Yesterday, the Dutch philips electronics announced that the company has the takeover and the lighting equipment manufacturers Genlyte reached an agreement, philips electronics will be $2.7 billion acquisition of the latter. If the takeover goes well, philips will become the biggest lighting company in North America.
